I repair old Synthesizers, Drum Machines, Combo-Organs, Sequencers, Electric Pianos, Samplers, etc. Mostly ones made from the 1960s, until the 1990s, though there are exceptions.
A few brands include: Moog, Roland, Korg, Farfisa, Vox, Yamaha, Casio, Emu, Crumar, Linn, Oberheim, Sequential Circuits, Arp, Fender Rhodes, and Wurlitzer.
Some common procedures: Calibration, key replacement, cleaning and restoration, power supply recapping, internal battery replacement, backlight replacement, replacing disk drives with USB drives, etc.
I also do general troubleshooting, repair, and restoration on old keyboards, drum machines, and effects processors. I don’t do any warranty repairs, and I don’t do any stereo component repair or computer repair. I also try to stay away from guitar amps, mixing consoles, tape machines, and speaker cabinets.
I do custom work and modifications to synthesizers and drum machines. I do a lot of Tubbutec, Kenton, and install other well known upgrades that add MIDI and extra features to old gear. I can usually perform custom modifications, if a schematic is available.
My apologies if you’ve tried emailing me and didn’t get a reply. Every few months I get an email, and once a letter in the snail mail, asking if I’m still in business and why I never replied.
Unfortunately, the mysterycircuits email I’ve used primarily for over 20 years isn’t very reliable.
To mitigate this problem, I added my personal gmail address cc’d if you click the Contact link. Please send to both addresses!
